Solar Street Lighting System
Solar Street Lighting System (SSLS) is used to provide lighting for the outdoor applications like providing lighting at factories, godowns, streets, stadiums,
office premises, open areas, farm houses etc.
The SSLS consists of the following parts:
► Solar Panel (Photovoltaic Module): Solar panel will absorb sunrays and produce electricity (DC current).
► Luminary + Battery: Genrally LED luminary with inbuilt Lithum battery will be used. Some times external battery will also be used.
► Pole: The pole will be fabricated with M.S / G.I. Solar Street Lighting system can be divided into 2 types:
► Centralized System: Where the Solar Panel and Battery will be mounted on the pole.
► Decentralized System: Where the Solar Panel and Battery will be installed at a separate location and power will be supplied to the street lights installed
at various locations. This systems is most suited in areas where the poles are not exposed to sunlight.
